About Mary
The journey to discover what was right with me, began in my teenage years as I struggled with what was wrong with me, suffering from anxiety, and later in my 30’s, periods of depression. My relentless curiosity and thirst to understand how I could heal holistically propelled me deeply into the study of the mind-body connection, both ancient eastern wisdom teachings and traditions, and western cutting-edge science.
Putting Into practice what I was studying and learning created such amazing personal growth and transformation in my life that I made a powerful decision In 2001 to resign from successful career in the government to devote myself to the field of mind-body therapy for physical and psychological wellbeing.
My deep dive into mindfulness as a wellness intervention and way of living, began in 2016 when I completed the world renowned 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program created by Jon Kabat-Zinn. This experience had a profound effect on my life, and I intuitively knew she needed to bring the program into my wellness practice. I am an MBSR trained teacher though the Brown University Center for Mindfulness and now offer the MBSR Program as of summer 2021.
I love to teach and share about mind-body healing, meditate, dig in the dirt, run with a great playlist, hike in nature, connect with healing and serving communities, and spend time with my wonderful family and friends. I also hope to walk the El Camino de Santiago In 2022.
